31-Year-Old Troy Brosnan from Adelaide, South Australia, Takes 2nd Place in Elite Men Division24-Year-Old Thibaut Daprela from France Claims 3rd Place

VAL DI SOLE, Italy, June 22, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- The 2025 season is heating up! Monster Energy congratulates team rider Marine Cabirou on taking first place in the UCI Downhill Mountain Bike World Cup in Val di Sole, Italy, this weekend. In the fourth race of the season, the 28-year-old from Millau, France, took the victory in the Elite Women's division.

In the Elite Men's division final on Saturday, 31-year-old Troy Brosnan from Adelaide, South Australia, earned a second-place finish to claim his first podium of the 2025 season. He was joined on the podium by 24-year-old French team rider Thibaut Daprela in third place.

From June 20-22, the iconic bike park in Val di Sole hosted the 2025 UCI Downhill Mountain Bike World Cup. The legendary track in the mountainous Trentino region has hosted off-road mountain bike events since the UCI Downhill World Championship in 2008 and ranks among athlete-favorite courses on the circuit.

In Saturday's Elite Women Downhill final, Marine Cabirou dropped in looking for a top spot after finishing closely outside the podium contention at the previous race in Saalfelden, Austria, where she finished in fourth place. As it turned out, she would rise to victory through a combination of grit and racing IQ.

Although Cabirou found herself in fifth place at the first split of the track, she rallied to gain time in each sector of the race. By the time she reached the fourth split, she had gained the lead position and ultimately powered through to earn the win on a finish time of 4:10.310, a strong 1.2 seconds clear of the next racer.

Saturday's win marks the 10th World Cup victory for Cabirou. On the strength of her result, Cabirou now holds fifth place in the 2025 UCI Downhill Mountain Bike World Cup season rankings with 567 points.

"I'm really happy to win today after struggling in the first races of the year," said Cabirou. "The track was really tough, the dry conditions were very tricky, and the dust made it almost impossible to see the lines. I wanted to push more (after qualifying fifth), and it paid off. I was never comfortable on my bike with how the track was destroyed; I don't think anyone was, but I managed to relax and enjoy it anyway. I'm very happy to take my tenth World Cup win here in Val di Sole!"

In the Elite Men Downhill final Troy Brosnan claimed his first podium of the 2025 season with a strong second-place finish. Working the course with speed and precision, Brosnan finished with a total time of 3:41.284 to climb onto the highly contested Val di Sole podium.

"That was a super hard track to go fast on," said Brosnan about the race in Val di Sole. "I've been really trying to get back up to speed ever since my win last season in Canada. It's been a hard road to get to this point. We've worked endlessly on the bike setup, and the team has done an amazing job. To come second in qualifying and to repeat that in finals is not quite a win, but it feels so close after all that work. Let's keep this going into the next round."

The second-place finish provides Brosnan a major boost in overall 2025 UCI Downhill Mountain Bike World Cup season rankings. He now holds seventh place with a score of 465 points.

Brosnan was joined on the podium by Thibaut Daprela in third place. Daprela completed the challenging track in 3:42.223, less than one second behind Brosnan. Daprela now holds fifth place in season standings with 503 points.

"It's been a while since I've been on the podium. This one feels really good," said an excited Daprela. "I had my chain come off on the second corner, so I decided to just go for it and see what happens. It was all or nothing! It was pretty tough, but I knew my lines and was confident in how I'd been riding all weekend, so I took the challenge and held on tight. I'm super stoked to be back up to a faster pace."

Almost rising to the podium, 21-year-old American team rider Dylan Maples finished the steep track in 3:43.590 for fourth place. He was closely followed within fractions of a second by 28-year-old Loris Vergier from Cagnes-sur-Mer, France, in fifth place with a total time of 3:43.931. Vergier now commands third place in the 2025 UCI Downhill Mountain Bike World Cup season rankings with 525 points.

Stay tuned when the 2025 UCI Downhill Mountain Bike World Cup continues from July 3-6 in La Thuile, Italy.

DALLAS, June 21, 2025

From LA studios and salons, he brings his artistry and vision home

DALLAS, June 21, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- After styling icons like Madonna and the Kardashians, Venezuelan-born hairstylist Axel Rojas has officially opened the doors to his own salon, Love and Layers, in Dallas.

The boutique studio, located in North Dallas, specializes in high-end hair coloring—particularly blonding—and premium hair extensions, which are Axel's signature services after years of refining his techniques on some of the world's most photographed individuals.

"I create natural-looking sun-kissed color," Axel says, "so when they leave, it looks like they spent a summer at the beach, not three hours in the salon."

Axel's journey reads like a modern American epic. After immigrating to the United States and later graduating from beauty school in 2020 in the middle of the pandemic, he persisted through shutdowns, industry slowdowns, and economic uncertainty, eventually landing a position in Los Angeles assisting the longtime hairstylist of Madonna.

That job launched him into the upper echelon of celebrity styling, where he went on to work with other names like Nicole Scherzinger, members of the Kardashian family, and others.

"It was surreal," he said. "One day I was assisting in a salon, and the next I was on set for music videos or styling hair for celebrities."

After two years in Los Angeles, Axel made the leap to Dallas to start his next chapter, pouring his energy into sharpening his craft and expanding his business acumen to bring his vision to life.

"My passion for hairstyling comes from a deep-rooted love of fashion and art," Axel added. "I offer a full range of services from cuts and colors to personalized treatments. Whether it's precision cutting, styling, or detailed highlighting, every part of the service is personal to me. My goal is always to exceed expectations."

Appointments can be booked at www.vagaro.com/loveandlayers Follow Axel and his work on Instagram at @axelrojashair and @loveandlayersalon.

Semaglutide Increases Walking Capacity in Patients with Peripheral Artery Disease and Type 2 Diabetes Semaglutide Increases Walking Capacity in Patients with Peripheral Artery Disease and Type 2 Diabetes

PR Newswire

CHICAGO, June 21, 2025

Common obesity drug reduced the risk of disease progression by 54%

CHICAGO, June 21, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, a new analysis demonstrates the vascular benefits of semaglutide in patients with peripheral artery disease (PAD) and type 2 diabetes, including improvement in symptoms, quality of life, and disease progression in patients. An analysis of the STRIDE trial was presented as a late-breaking symposium at the 85th Scientific Sessions of the American Diabetes Association® (ADA) in Chicago and simultaneously published in Diabetes Care®.

PAD is a serious condition impacting 230 million individuals globally and up to 30% of people with diabetes. PAD narrows arteries and reduces blood flow to the legs, causing marked disability, affecting quality of life, and putting people at increased risk of severe complications including amputations and death. Treatment options are currently limited, and little advancements in PAD treatment have occurred for more than 25 years.

The STRIDE trial is a phase 3, multinational, double-blind, randomized clinical trial conducted at 112 outpatient clinical trial sites in 20 countries in North America, Asia, and Europe. 792 patients aged 18 years and older with type 2 diabetes and PAD with intermittent claudication (a symptom of PAD that causes muscle pain or cramping in the legs during physical activity) and reduced ankle-brachial or toe-brachial index (indicators of restricted blood flow to the legs), were randomly assigned to receive either semaglutide (n=396) or placebo (n=396) over a 52-week period to assess the impact on walking capacity, symptoms, and quality of life. The median age was 68 years, and 195 (25%) participants were female and 597 (75%) were male.

The sub-analysis builds on results previously published in The Lancet, demonstrating that semaglutide significantly improved walking outcomes in people with PAD and diabetes, enhanced quality of life, and reduced the risk of disease progression by 54%. At week 52, the estimated median ratio to baseline in maximum walking distance was 1.21 in the semaglutide group compared to 1.08 in the placebo group. Semaglutide was well tolerated, with no treatment-related deaths and a low rate of serious adverse events (1%), consistent with its known safety profile. The analyses from STRIDE presented new and critical information on the benefits of semaglutide, which were observed independent of baseline levels of A1C, duration of diabetes, or intensity of diabetes. Furthermore, the benefits were seen across all BMI categories and regardless of the treatment with SGLT2 inhibitors.

"These findings indicate that clinicians can now recognize semaglutide as a vascular protective medication, with benefits that extend beyond lowering weight or A1C," said Professor Subodh Verma, MD, PhD, FRCSC, FAHA, FCAHS, cardiovascular surgeon, University of Toronto, Toronto, Canada, and senior author of the STRIDE trial. "The totality of data now suggest that in people with diabetes, semaglutide favorably affects the pipes [atherosclerosis], pump [heart failure], filter [kidney outcomes]. And, in patients with PAD, these new data provide robust evidence that semaglutide is a therapy to improve their function, quality of life, and progression of disease."The study authors indicate that further research is warranted to understand whether these benefits extend to individuals with PAD who do not have diabetes.

Research presentation details:Dr. Verma will present the findings at the following symposium:

10,000 Nurses Demand Employer Stop Attacks, Kick off Contract Campaign

DETROIT, June 21, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Members of Teamsters Local 2024 at Corewell Health East rallied today alongside Teamsters General Secretary-Treasurer Fred Zuckerman, Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, state and local officials, and union allies to demand that their employer end its attacks on unionized workers.

"It's no secret that management at Corewell has been disrespecting you and your co-workers for a long time. And now that you've become Teamsters, they are all too eager to continue that disrespect," Zuckerman said. "Well, I've got one thing to say to Corewell: buckle up — because you're in for the fight of your life."

In November 2024, Corewell nurses beat back an aggressive $1.7 million union-busting campaign by organizing three-to-one to join the Teamsters. In the months since, corporate management at Corewell Health East has attacked nurses by withholding several economic opportunities that were given to nonunion employees, including refusing wage increases, withholding bonuses, and denying 403(b) matches.

"We are being attacked by our own employer — but these attacks only pour fuel on the fire within us as pissed off, fed up, and overworked nurses," said Alyson Zajac, a nurse at Corewell Health East in Dearborn.

Next week, Teamsters will begin contract negotiations with Corewell Health East for the first collective bargaining agreement for nearly 10,000 nurses.

SOFIA, Bulgaria, June 21, 2025

Kevin 'Purge' Godec and Austin 'Cap' Walsh are latest additions to roster of renowned commentators that will stream the Final, scheduled for June 22nd.

SOFIA, Bulgaria, June 21, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Acki Nacki, the fastest blockchain possible, today announced a partnership with Kevin 'Purge' Godec and Austin 'Cap' Walsh, two renowned English-language game casters, to be official commentators for the live broadcast of the Popit Games Tournament Final. The Popit Games Tournament is an event held in preparation for the Acki Nacki Mainnet launch on June 29, 2025. Players compete in the multiplayer roguelike deck-building card game for a chance to win part of a $500,000 prize pool. The Tournament final will be held on June 22, 2025, and will be covered and translated live in English, on the day of the tournament, by top YouTube/Twitch Casters and Austin 'Cap' Walsh.

Kevin 'Purge' Godec said: "You can't play Popit Games just going through the motions. The combination of strategy and competitive multiplayer action, means for every deck you build and block you finalize you have to account for a unique state of the action. Popit Games has programmable card sequences; you can boost your scores or sabotage opponents; it creates dynamic gameplay that rewards strategy and adaptation." Godec began his career by uploading Dota guides to YouTube, and later briefly joined the professional team Zephyr in South Korea. Today, he's best known as a Dota 2 analyst at major events, including Valve's The International. In his free time he streams Dota 2 with a large viewer base, but is most famous for his extremely long patch analysis videos, and guest-starring on the TV show Bull, in an episode about the esports scene in Titanfall 2.

"Popit Games is a challenging but rewarding gaming experience, and I don't just mean the prize pool," said Austin 'Cap' Walsh. "As you keep playing, it becomes essential to play your cards clinically and develop a clear strategy." Walsh has been part of The International since 2014. Since 2016, has been an independent worldwide Dota 2 caster, and has been involved in professional Dota 2 teams. He has cast over 3000 games of Dota 2 and worked on over 100 events.

"The development team behind Acki Nacki and Popit Games believe that state-of-the-art technology needs a great presentation," said Acki Nacki Architect Mitja Goroshevsky. "Spaceships blast-off, sports cars go full speed on a racetrack, Acki Nacki hosts a live spectacle to showcase a game like no other. For that we need great commentators, and we are thrilled that Kevin and Austin will help us to show the world what Acki Nacki can do."

The tournament features dual leaderboards for both individual players and team competitions. The Popit Games Final will take place on June 22nd starting at 17:00 CET. Commentators Godec and Walsh will join, see all the gameplay, and discuss the different strategies at play. The Tournament precedes the Acki Nacki mainnet launch on June 29th. Following that date, Popit Games will act as a Miner inside the Acki Nacki App, allowing players to mine $NACKL coins. Acki Nacki calls this feature a 'True' Miner, because players don't play for nothing, but really contribute to network security. As part of the Acki Nacki Tokenomics, 22.5% of all network Block Rewards will go to Mobile Verifiers.

About Acki Nacki Acki Nacki is the fastest blockchain possible. "Our mission is no longer just about putting boots on the ground," says Will Seel, Vice President of Business Development and Industry Affairs at FHI. "We're aligning people, processes, and technology to support full-spectrum supply chain performance."

This strategic shift responds directly to the changing priorities of supply chain executives.

According to a recent Gartner survey, 78% of supply chain leaders identified visibility as their number-one priority over the next 12 months. FHI's expanded offerings meet that need through a combination of leadership development, data-driven visibility tools, and flexible labor models.

Among the key solutions now available through FHI:

Leadership Laces: A proprietary, onsite training program that equips warehouse supervisors and frontline leaders with the tools to drive engagement and productivity.

"Customers aren't just looking for headcount anymore—they're looking for strategic partners who see the big picture and can help them execute," Seel adds. "That's where FHI comes in. We bring over 30 years of experience, a hands-on approach, and a commitment to operational excellence that goes far beyond staffing."

With rising customer expectations, SKU proliferation, and workforce constraints shaping the industry, FHI is positioning itself as a new kind of partner for distribution leaders—one that understands the operational realities of modern supply chains and is equipped to help navigate them.
